Grossglockner 2011

On New Year's Eve 2011 we took the only right direction - toward the mountains. The choice fell on the Hohe Tauern and the highest mountain of Austria - Grossglockner (3798 m), where we went with a group of friends.Normal route led us from the village Kals , via Lukcnerhütte shelter, Stüdlhütte, glacier Ködnitz Kees, Erzherzog-Johann-Hütte shelter, Kleinglockner the narrow and exposed Obere Glocknerscharte pass, then along the ridge to the summit. Climbing difficulities on the ridge are small, not more than II UIAA (ability to belay from fixed points - bars). Snow conditions were very good, the attack went faster than we expected. And for the New Year's Eve we were able to get back to Warsaw...
